HISTORY 

Originally founded by Al Herman in 1985 as Al's Tattoos in Laurel, MD. Al completed his apprenticeship under Tattoo Lou in Clearwater, FL in 1978 and worked for Lou's Tattoos for several years before opening his own shop. The shop was relocated to its present location in Silver Spring in 1992. Capitol Tattoo Inc. is backed with 29 years of industry experience. All of our artists have been trained in the art of tattooing and have undergone extensive apprenticeships to achieve their place in this age old profession. We are members of the Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce, The Better Business Bureau, and the Alliance of Professional Tattooists. We are proud to be "Montgomery County's oldest and finest tattoo parlour!"

SERVICES

We provide quality, safe and sterile tattooing and body piercing at reasonable prices with great customer support. You may choose from the over 50,000 designs we have displayed in our lobby or bring in your own design. Our artists are always willing to work with you to create a personal one-of-a-kind tattoo that you can truly call your own. As a matter of fact, as artists, we prefer to work with our clients in creating a design that flows with the natural curves of the body and is unique to each individual.

All body piercings are done with Autoclave sterilized single service needles and implant grade surgical steel jewelry. The same type of steel that the hospital would use to pin your ankle together, so you can be assured there is no risk of infection or allergic reaction. Gold and silver jewelry have nickel and other metals in them that increase the risk of infection. We highly recommend leaving your starter jewelry in for at least 8 weeks before changing to gold or silver to minimize your risk of infection.
